Hey Guys,

I've given this some though and after comparing everything and looking at all factors, I've decided to change Enterprise to a more log focused sim. Now, the reason for this is a few things, first, attendance. We aren't getting the attendance like we should with RL commitments as well as going into summer. RL ALWAYS comes first, but I also need attendance steady. Second is recruitment. Recruiting for IRC is getting difficult as places to do so dwindle, most everything is PBEM now.

Now, those that want to keep IRC going, you weren't ignored either. There is a few things I'm doing and going to do for y'all. First, there is a channel named #Enterprise-24-7 that I have created where you can go in and free sim or, if you want, reserve it to sim out part of your log. After some talking to, I've decided to allow the IRC log to be posted as a log, However, there's some rules for that-


1-Log must be double spaced
2-Spelling errors must be corrected
3-Parts and joins must be edited out
4-IRC Logs need to be kept to 1 page in length, if it goes over please split it


IRC logs can be difficult to read and follow, the above makes it easier to read them.


Second, I will run IRC sim at least twice a month on Thursday nights at 9 PM EST. This will most likely be at the beginning and end of each month and each plot will be directed for these to be, for now, character development sims until I can see how many do attend.

We will also still be doing awards and promotions stuff on IRC and can IRC for RnR should people wish to.


I think this will be a good balance for us to make this switch but keep everyone's wishes in mind as well. Now, that said, for us to change, there are a few things in the policy that will change as well-



All crew will be required to make at least 1 one page, or five paragraph, log a week
Department heads will be required to submit 2 a week
Excusals *must* be sent by Tuesday, when the logging week ends, or you will be marked unexcused. After 3 unexcused you will be put on a probation and recieve a 'strike' on your record through the site. After 3 strikes or 5 unexcused you will be dropped
Strikes will be reset every 2 weeks and you have a clean slate
IRC sims occurring twice a month will not be mandatory, however, everyone is asked to please come, interaction is what keeps us strong



Most of the above isn't much different then what needs to be done now, but, with the strikes, it allows me and the rest of the command team to keep track better.

Now, finally, in regards to an XO, we will be selecting an XO within the next three weeks, I have three candidates from Enterprise in mid. Please bear with me on that, we will have an XO soon.


Please keep in mind, this has all been weighed and decided so that we can keep the sim running over the long term. Most all angles have been looked at and other options weighed over the last few months and this is the result. Hopefully, this' a nice medium to keep everyone happy and keep the sim going far into the future. If you have any questions about any of this, please do not hesitate to ask.
