Ambitions Tristan hopes to one day rise to a command level position to prove to his father that he has what it takes to have a successful career and be the man that his father wasn\'t. Personal History Tristan Drake was born to Captain Isaac Drake and Lieutenant Commander Mara Drake on Earth in the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia in a city called Truro. Drake was somewhat of a wild youth and always seemed to have a knack for getting into trouble. However, despite his tendancies for finding trouble he seemed to get along rather well with the majority of his peers.


At the age of thirteen, his father, Isaac Drake, was given a promotion from Starfleet Intelligence on Earth and given command of the U.S.S. Xerxes, a nova class science vessel, on a five year mission. Unfortunately, under strict orders, Isaac was not allowed to take his family along with him on his mission which was expected to last five years. For reasons never fully revealed to him or his mother, Tristan\'s father eagerly accepted the post and made his way towards the Gamma Quadrant to conduct geological surveys and explore space in various unmapped regions.


As Tristan grew older into his teen years he became quite the tease and ladies man. He took up piloting for recreation and for reasons he couldn\'t explain was quite gifted with finding ways to fix things. However, only two months after Tristan\'s seventeenth birthday his mother grew very ill. Despite the team of doctors working vigorously to help her she was notified that they could no longer help her and she had at most two weeks more to live. On her deathbed, Mara told Tristan how proud she was of him and that she always dreamed of seeing him one day become a Starfleet officer. Mara died later that night with Tristan close by at her side and with no word from his father.


Upon his eighteenth birthday Tristan honored his mother\'s dream and entered Starfleet Academy. He joined the flight team where he met Neera Baliya who he quickly became friends with and were quite competitive against one another. Unfortunately, this also marked the year where his father was expected to return home from his mission. Upon hearing from him at the academy they had an altercation and Tristan never fully forgave him blaming him for leaving the family and ultimately the death of his mother.


Tristan graduated Starfleet Academy specializing in engineering and operations, choosing to keep his piloting experience as a hobby only. Given his choice of assignments Drake chose the Enterprise after a Christmas party to which he was invited. Tristan packed his bags and said one final farewell to his friends at the academy before beaming over to the Enterprise to begin his cadet cruise.
