SD 241003.12 Captain Corbin's Autopsy

It had only been an hour since the Captain's body had been beamed back to the Enterprise. He was being kept under cold storage in the ship's mortuary awaiting to be autopsy. The ship's Chief Mortician, Petty Officer Raymon Fisk had been putting off the autopsy. He just did not feel right about desecrating the Captain's body. Other crewmembers and people were different since they didn't make as big of an impact on the ship as the Captain had.

The Petty Officer had been hovering over the Captain's body for about 10 minutes with the laser scalpal in his hands when he recieved the call from Korrd XZavier [Mister Fisk, what is the status on the Captain's Autopsy?]

Fisk sighed slightly as he responded [I'm sorry sir, I just haven't gotten to it yet... I] he got halted as the Chief of Medicine quickly responded.

[Haven't started yet!? Petty Officer you are our Chief Mortician and the Captain requests that Corbin's body be autopsy immediately so he can be given a proper burial. Now I don't want to hear excuses and get back to work!]

[Aye sir, I will start right away] and after that, the commlink communication ended. Fisk shrugged at the Chief of Medicine. He never knew Corbin. His life wasn't saved because of Corbin's sacrifice. He doubted this is what the Captain wanted to be done to his body after his heroic death.

Regardless he was the Chief Mortician and this is what he did sign on for. Before starting he tapped his communicator once more [Mr. Kor'Tor could you assist me with the Captain's autopsy]

Quickly the Technician responded [Aye sir] and shortly after he entered the coroner's lab.

Fisk nodded to the klingon, "I will do the dissecting, you take care of the logging the data, understood?" he watched as the klingon gave a nod and activate the datapad.

He started off by taking his scalpal and removing what was left of the Captain's clothes which was only a pair of starfleet pants and duty boots. He gave them to the klingon to record and store. Next he began making observations of the Captain's bruises, noting that he had multiple bruising as well as a stab wound in the back. After that he started scanning the body for broken bones which he did have, most notably the skull fractured, broken ribs, and arm.

After his initiate scans were complete, he took the laser scalpal and made an incision down the Captain's chest to open up a large cavity to access the internal organs. Slowly and precisely he removed all the internal organs and gave them to Kor'Tor to document. He then took the scalpal once again and made an incision around the skull. Once the cut was complete, he pulled off the top of his skull and removed the Captain's brain for documentation. While Kor'Tor documented these organs, Fisk took some samples from the Captain to run a toxicology report on.

After about an hour of work, all the documentation on the internal organs was complete and toxicology came back negative. Fisk made the final note of COD to be caused by a penetrating stab to the back which pierced the artificial heart. Next the coroner began sewing the Captain back up, making him look like new. Both him and Kor'Tor worked hard in using body paints to cover up the bruising and the scars. Following that, they dressed him in his Starfleet Dress Uniform and decorated him with his medals of honor.

Once complete, Fisk filed the report with the Medical Record's Clerk then contacted the Chief of Medicine [Sir, the autopsy is complete and my report has been filed. The Captain is now ready for a proper burial]

[Excellent and well done Mr. Fisk] Korrd responded and closed the commlink.

Fisk shrugged one last time and then turned to Kor'tor, "Good job today. Lets clean up this mess and move onto the next victim..."
