DESIGN TYPE: Heavy Assault
The AC-409 was designed as a carrier-based craft capable of engaging enemy ships in fleet-sized engagements. With the Valkyrie's heavy armor and heavy shields, it can take quite a pounding while able to enter a hot engagement zone, deliver its payload to the target, and return to the ship with a minimal sacrifice to maneuverability and speed. With support from craft such as the AC-402 Hammerhead and older Scorpio and Jaguar class fighters, a formidable force can be brought against threat vessels with minimal danger to ship's crew.
Isolinear twin-core design, with 372 Isolinear banks and 106 command preprocessors and data analysis units. The core maintains extraordinarily capable flight control for the Pilot, and RIO in emergency situations when the Pilot is incapable of flying the craft.
The Valkyrie employs the successful horizontal matter-antimatter reaction scheme that has proved its capabilities in the Danube- and Yellowstone-class runabouts. The deuterium tankage is located at the forward section of framework spine, directly behind the storage compartments for survival gear of crew.
The MK-II differs from the original production line Valkyrie in that it has been given an additional
